Not an engineering sample
The MSI Z87 XPower is certainly top of the notch motherboard so it is not a big surprise that it managed to brake some overclocking records by getting the retail version of the Intel Core i7-4770K up to an incredible 7068.52MHz.
Since all previous records were achieved with engineering samples this makes it even more important since those are usually much better overclockers and unavailable to normal users. With 7068.52MHz, the MSI Z87 XPower currently sits on top of the overclocking leader-board.
The Intel Core i7-4770K and MSI's Z87 XPower were paired with 2GB of ADATA DDR3 memory working at 409.8MHz at 6-6-6-15 latencies.
