BitFenix launches Prodigy M PC case

For micro-ATX segmet

BitFenix has decided to launch yet another micro-ATX PC case that will be a part of its well known Prodigy lineup, the Prodigy M. The new Prodigy M aims to be the most compact and highly compatible case in the micro-ATX segment by setting new standards in the terms of mobility, compatibility and design, according to BitFenix.

Following the design of its earlier original Prodigy that has set new standards in the mini-ITX segment, the new Prodigy M looks pretty much the same and shares the same 250x404x359mm dimensions. As you remember, the original Prodigy had the same dimensions but the internal ones were quite smaller so it only came with support for mini-ITX motherboards. While BitFenix markets the original Prodigy as the perfect case for overclocking, NAS systems and media center PCs, the new Prodigy M is aimed at gaming PCs, A/V workstations and other various MATX systems and generally aimed at those that need additional PCI slots or gamers that simply want to do an SLI or CrossfireX setup in a small case.

As noted earlier and as the name suggests, the Prodigy M also supports micro-ATX motherboards as well as mini-ITX motherboards and features five PCI slots. It has a single removable 5.25-inch drive bay, five (3+2 modular) 3.5-inch drive bays and a total of nine 2.5-inch drive bays.

It comes with all features seen on the original Prodigy including BitFenix FyberFlex Composite handles, SofTouch surface treatment, heat shield as well as dual USB 3.0 ports on the integrated I/O positioned on the side panel and front and top removable mesh dust filters. Since it supports both mini- and micro-ATX motherboards, the new Prodigy M supports dual long graphics cards with its five PCI slots, supports up to 160mm tall CPU coolers as well as 240mm water cooling radiators.

As far as the cooling goes, the new Prodigy M has room for optional two 120mm fans at the top, two 120mm or one 200/230mm one at the bottom and either one 120mm or 140mm fan in the rear. It comes equipped out of the box with one 120mm rear, one 120mm bottom fan. It supports standard PS2 ATX PSU placed at the bottom of the case.

Those that were looking at the original Prodigy and simply did not go for it due to the lack of micro-ATX support can take another look at the new Prodigy M. It will be available in black/black and white/white color choices and should be hitting retail/e-tail shelves in October. Unfortunately, BitFenix did not reveal the price.
