Asus launches world's first AMD FM2+ motherboards

Based on A88X and A55 chipsets

Asus has announced the new A88XM-A and A55BM-A/USB3 motherboards that are the world's first AMD socket FM2+ motherboards made for upcoming AMD Kaveri A-series APUs. Based on the AMD A88X and the A55 chipsets, both motherboards are based on a micro-ATX form factor and are backward-compatible with the existing AMD Richland and Trinity FM2 APUs.

Both motherboards feature support for the upcoming Kaveri APUs and its new PCI-Express 3.0 interface with a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot as well as a couple of other features including USB 3.0 Boost technology, UEFI BIOS, DIGI+ VRM voltage regulation and Fan Xpert fan control.

The Asus A88XM-A and the A55BM-A/USB3 are just a first two models in an extensive series of socket FM2+ motherboards that will be released later this year.

Unfortunately, Asus did not reveal the precise launch date and the precise prices for the two new FM2+ motherboards.
