Microsoft will enable offline access for SkyDrive

Coming with Windows 8.1

Microsoft's own cloud storage service, SkyDrive, will be getting an update that will allow offline access to files once Windows 8.1 finally comes out.

According to first details, it will let you choose some or all files that you want to be available offline which will then be downloaded to the devices automatically. Files that were marked for offline access will be easily identified and you'll be able to even save files in offline mode that will be uploaded to SkyDrive as soon as a connection is available.

In case you missed it earlier, Microsoft's Windows 8.1 is expected to come to existing Windows 8 users sometimes next month and it is still not clear if the Public Preview will get this option anytime soon.
