Seagate preparing 5 and 6TB enterprise HDDs in 2014

Leaked roadmap spills the details

A leaked roadmap from Seagate that showed up at Myce.com site revealed that the company plans to ship 5TB and 6TB enterprise class HDDs next year.

According to roadmap, the 3.5-inch 6TB HDDs will be a part of Seagate's Enterprise Capacity series aimed at bulk storage applications where price and reliability play the key role. The Seagate 5TB HDDs scheduled to hit the market in second quarter of 2014 will be a part of Seagate's Enterprise Value series and are basically budget HDDs aimed at data center storage.

The same slide reveals that Seagate expects to shop 2.5-inch form factor enterprise HDDs in 2TB capacities sometimes in Q4 next year.
