ASRock unveils H87E-ITX/ac mini-ITX motherboard

Quite a beast for HTPCs

ASRock has unveiled its new H87E-ITX/ac mini-ITX motherboard based on Intel's H87 Express chipset with support for Intel's 4th generation Core Haswell LGA1150 CPUs and on-board 802.11ac WLAN.

The motherboard features a 4-phase CPU VRM and gets its power from 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors. It features two DIMM memory slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR3 memory and has a single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot in case you want to pair it up with a dedicated graphics card. The mini PCI-Express slot is present but populated by the aforementioned 802.11ac WLAN card.

The specification list kicks off with the 802.11ac Dual Band WLAN based on Intel's i217V chipset that offers up to 867Mbps of bandwidth, single Gigabit Ethernet port, Bluetooth 4.0, six internal SATA 6Gbps and single eSATA 6Gbps ports (all coming from H87 PCH), 7.1-channel HD audio based on Realtek ALC1150 chip, optical SPDIF, four USB 3.0 and a couple of USB 2.0 ports, as well as DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.

ASRock did not reveal the precise price tag of the new mini-ITX motherboard but did not that the H87E-ITX/ac should ship to retail/e-tail later this week.
