With the GeForce GTX 770 Extreme Edition, ZOTAC launches another enthusiast grade graphics card, which will only be avaialble in greater China region. The card features a completely reworked PCB, a very powerful power design, a custom cooler as well as a nice backplate.
A closer look a the VRM area of this slightly insane card shows that there are now less than 12+2 phases, whereas the manufacturer makes use of noise-free choke. In the end this is a combination of polymer and tantalum capacitors and additionally, there are three proadlizer (multi-phase capacitors) and a PowIRSstage driver MOSFET from International Rectifier. Furthermore we find a combination of CHiL CHL8318 and CHL 8214-03 chips taking care of the VRM. The first is able to cope with eight phases and the second can take care of four phases. Regarding the cooling solution, there is a copper baseplate to which several heatpipes are connected. The heatpipes are then soldered to a massive fin stack, which is being kept at adequate temperatures via a 92 millimeter fan.
Searching for clock speeds shows, that this beast runs a base clock of 1'150 MHz and a boost clock of 1'202 MHz. Furthermore the memory runs at 7.20 GHz. Additionally you find a DIP switch on this card to enable an LN2 mode. Once activated, the card bypasses some NVIDIA security measures to make sure that you can reach even higher frequencies under extreme cold.
