According to a statement made by Nintendo's marketing executive, Nintendo will not drop the Wii U price despite its low sale numbers.
In an interview with VentureBeat last week, Nintendo marketing executive Scott Moffit noted that Nintendo has no plans to change the price of the Wii U and that Wii U still offers a "great value" for gamers. Nintendo expects that sale numbers will grow as soon as some new games are released.
Nintendo puts a lot of confidence in Mario, Zelda and Super Smash Bros titles and although these could bring a bit more profit to Nintendo, an impending release of the Xbox One and more importantly, the Playstation 4 will certainly wreak havoc on Nintendo Wii U sales.
