Nvidia did not only talk about its Shield hand-held console but also showed a selected members of press its reference design based on Tegra 4i chip that has an integrated LTE modem.

The smarthone is without any brand and Nvidia decided to brand it with a "brand" logo. It feature a 4.8-inch 720p display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 1GB of LPDDR2 RAM and comes with 8, 16 or 32GB of storage. In case you missed it earlier, the Tegra 4i aka. Project Gray as Nvidia called it earlier, is a 28nm Cortex-A9 based 4-plus-1 design. The CPU part of the chip is clocked at up to 2.3GHz while it also features an improved GPU part with 60 GPU cores. The big improvement is the Icera i500 LTE modem that is integrated directly in the chip.

The LTE modem has LTE and HSPA+ support for all regions and according to Nvidia, features networking upgradability and scalability so it can be programmed over-the-air to support new frequencies and air interfaces, something that other modem vendors apparently do not have.

According to a report at Anandtech.com, Nvidia claims that devices or design-wins should be out in the Q1 2014 timeframe and should be priced at somewhere between US $300-400 unsubsidized. According to Nvidia, some other design-wins based on Tegra 4i chip could be priced as low as US $200.
