During Computex 2013 show, Asus showed a rather interesting socket FM2+ motherboard that supports the upcoming Kaveri APUs and is actually based on AMD's Bolton D4 A88x chipset, the Asus A88XM-Pro.
As noted earlier, the new FM2+ socket will support the upcoming Kaveri APUs but will also be backward compatible with Richland and Trinity FM2 APUs. Asus' A88XM-Pro features a 6-phase VRM and uses Asus' classic black/blue color scheme. The rest of the specifications include two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots ( x8/x8 ) and two PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots and offers a total of seven SATA 6Gbps ports.
Although there has been some rumors that Kaveri APU should bring support for a different memory, Asus' A88XM-Pro comes with four DDR3 DIMM slots with support for up to 64GB DDR3-2400 OC+ memory. It also comes with a couple of Asus features including Mem OK!, Dual Intelligent Processors II Design, Fan Xpert 2, Remote GO! and USB BIOS flashback.
It also features a bunch of USB 3.0/2.0 ports, VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, eSATA, Gigabit Ethernet and 7.1-channel audio. Asus did not shed any light on the actual price or the release date but according to earlier details, Kaveri APUs should be available before the end of this year.
