AMD shows off Kaveri APU at Computex

Shows the new Ruby tech-demo

During the Computex 2013 press conference, AMD decided that it is the right time to show off its Kaveri APU platform and demonstrate its capabilities. It also showed a rather cool looking new Ruby tech-demo rendered with CryEngine 3 with AMD's TressFX technology.

In case you missed it earlier, Kaveri APU is scheduled to appear before the end of this year and this 28nm APU will feature Steamroller CPU part, Graphics Core Next architecture GPU part as well as support for AMD's HSA and hUMA memory support. AMD also talked a bit about the improvements that Kaveri should bring including up 15 to 20 percent in the CPU side as well as much greater improvements on the GPU side of the APU.

AMD demonstrated Kaveri by running Devil May Cry 4 at some decent graphics settings and also showed a rather interesting Ruby techdemo that was running on HD 7990. The tech-demo itself featured a total of 15 different technologies and effects including AMD's TressFX seen in the Tomb Raider game.
