Thunderbolt has been around for a while and the only company that did anything serious with Thunderbolt is Apple but it appears things are changing as recently revealed ASRock Z87 Extreme9/ac motherboard is actually world's first Thunderbolt-certified motherboard.
The Z87 Extreme9/ac will be ASRock's flagship motherboard based on the upcoming Intel 8-series Express Chipset and is actually one of the first motherboards to pass the Intel Thunderbolt certification. As you already know, although it has been already detailed, leaked and rumored, Intel plans to officially launch its new 8-series Express Chipset and 4th generation Core Haswell CPUs right around Computex 2013 show in June.
The Z87 Extreme9/ac is just a part of the new ASRock lineup that will have some impressive features but we will hold on until Intel gives a green-light and ASRock to officially announced its own lineup.
