Samsung is determined to keep working on 5G network technology and has managed to reach speeds of 1Gbps in recent test. Samsung already officially announced that its wants 5G to be available by the year 2020.
While it is not the fastest one we have seen recently, Samsung latest testing reached speeds of 1Gbps as it aims for the 10Gbps potential of the technology. Currently, the fastest that you can pull data on your mobile device is around 75 Mbps on 4G network. While 1Gbps does not sound that much, in year 2020 it just might be even to slow judging by the rate in which apps, movies and media has been growing in size on mobile devices.

The 1Gbps speeds are in line with goals of the European Commission and both EU and China have already started the research funding of the project so 2020 schedule does not seem like a fairytale.
