Microsoft has announced that its Windows Phone marketplace has now reached more than 145,000 apps. Although it is an impressive result, it is still far away from what Google and Apple have to offer.
Back in June last year, Windows Phone marketplace reached the 100,000 app milestone and by October that number went up to 120,000. Unfortunately, it appears that the initial hype is slowing down as it managed only to grow by another 25,000 in over 6 months and a mere 45,000 in eleven months.
Unlike Google's Play store, Windows Phone marketplace has somewhat followed in the footsteps of the Apple Store, meaning that most of those 145,000 are high quality apps that are already famous on Android or iOS.
