Especially in the past year, Toshiba has been pushing it's hard drive business. Therefore it's no surprise that the manufacturer has quite a few external hard drives in it's portfolio. New they've announced an update of their Store.E-Canvio-Series hard drives and they're even going to release a 2 Terabyte model.
Toshiba is also cooperating with the American cloud storage provider Pogoplug. If you buy one of the new Toshiba Sore.E.Canvio drives you get 10 Gigabyte of cloud storage from Pogoplug for free. Thanks to the Pogoplug software the hard drive can be synchronized with the cloud and therefore there would be the possibility to access the data on the external Toshiba drive from everywhere.

As we've already mentioned, Toshiba has released five new models which range from 500 Gigabyte to 2 Terabyte capacity. Actually there is a 2 TB, a 1.5 TB, a 1 TB, a 750 GB and a 500 GB model. In case of the interface Toshiba is using USB 3.0 and the hard drives rotate with 5'400 rpm. Furthermore there is an 8 Megabyte cache and the manufacturer promises an average seek time of 12ms.

Toshibas new Store.E Canvio 2 Terabyte hard drives are going to be available from the 2nd of May. The manufacturers price recommendation is 159 Euros.
