During its recent event in London, Gigabyte revealed its new Brix mini PC, ultra compact PC that will be available with some quite impressive CPU option, the Core i7-3537U.
The new Brix is Gigabyte's vision of the Intel NUC and exact dimensions and weight are set at 114.8x108x29.5mm and 404 grams. It will be available with a wide range of Intel's low-power CPUs including Celeron 1007U, Core i3-3227U, Core i5-3337U and the Core i7-3537U, all with 17W TDP or less. Since there was no room for anything else, Gigabyte's Brix will have to rely on Intel's iGPU HD graphics.
The rest of the specifications include up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM via two SO-DIMM slots, mSATA SSD for storage, mini-PCI WiFi card installed, Gigabit LAN (unavailable on the SKU with Celeron), HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and two USB 3.0 ports. It is also fully compatible with VESA mounts.
Unfortuantely, Gigabyte did not shed any light regarding the actual price of any Brix SKU but did note that it should launch in the UK within the next few months.
