Hybrid Memory Cube Specs finalized

Up to 28Gbps throughput

The Hybrid Memory Cube Consortium (HMCC) has been around for quite some time but now more than 100 developers and adopters that are a part of it have finally reached a consensus and finalized the specification of the Hybrid Memory Cube (HMC) technology.

Since the specification for the HMC has been finalized and milestone has been reached, the HMCC is now moving ahead to further advance standards designed to increase data rate speeds from 10, 12.5 and 15Gb/s up to an incredible 28Gb/s for short-reach and up to 15Gb/s for ultra short-reach interconnections.

The HMCC hopes that all developers and adopters will gain consortium agreement for the next-generation specification by the first quarter of 2014.
