Intel has published a Z390 chipset product brief on its website. The document unveils the features of the new chipset, which are very close to current Z370 series. Unfortunately, the product brief doesn't confirm the support for the allegedly Intel eight-core mainstream processor.


A few weeks ago, a reddit user has spotted several eight-core Coffee Lake processors which should be compatible with Intel Z390 chipset. Intel has listed the pending eight-core processors on its website, in other words the rumors looks confirmed and we expect to see an eight-core mainstream processor sooner than later. Furthermore, first Eurocom and then Bluechip have both posted several information about this upcoming CPUs.

With the Coffee Lake series, Intel has released Z-, H-, B- and Q-series of motherboards. With the Z390 chipset, Intel adds an updated version of current Z370. The Z390 chipset comes with native support for USB 3.1 Gen2, Wireless-AC 2x2 160MHz and Bluetooth 5. According some rumors, Intel might provide more details about this chipset during Computex 2018.
