Judging by the sheer number of rumors that are surfacing today, the release of everything related to Coffee Lake is coming closer. ASRock has finally showcased few of the upcoming models that we will see with Intel Z370. The motherboard are pretty similar to the previous generation.
First of all we’re almost surprised to see how strikingly similar the new models are to the current Z270 motherboards. Although there isn’t any information from ASRock itself, we don't see any visual differences between the motherboards that are already available and the alleged upcoming ones.
The Z370 Taichi and the Z370 Extreme4 are based on a similar PCB. What differs is the color scheme, the audio solution and a few connectors. These two models feature an ATX form factor with eight DDR4 DIMM slots. Both motherboards feature three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots. Storage wise there are two M.2 slots and eight SATA-III ports. The ASRock Z370 Taichi comes with additional features like a debug display and support for USB 3.1 ports.
In addition ASRock has also shown two mid-range ATX form factor motherboards: the Z370 Killer SLI/ac and the Z370 Pro4. On the Z370 Killer SLI/ac motherboard there are two steel reinforced PCIe Gen 3.0 slots and between the first and the second full-sized PCIe slot there are two slots distance providing plenty of space for graphics cards to breathe in the case of multi-GPU setups. Furthermore there are two M.2 slots, which are compatible with 110 millimeters M.2 SSDs. In addition there are six SATA-III ports.
The Z370 Pro4 is a entry-level to mid-range model. On this motherboard ASRock has removed all the bells and whistles that you can find on the other board, like for example the plastic I/O cover and the steel reinforcement on the full-sized PCIe slots. Like with the Z370 Killer SLI/ac motherboard, we see two PCIe Gen 3.0 slots, six SATA-III ports and two M.2 slots.
At the moment this is basically all the information available on ASRock's upcoming Z370 ATX motherboards.
