Another set of benchmarks on Intel's Coffee Lake CPUs has surfaced. This time it looks like the six-core Intel Core i7-8700K, that’s supposed to make it to market next month, has been put through its paces using Cinebench R15. So far it looks like Coffee Lake is going to perform quite good.



These new results have been gathered using Cinebench R15. At stock clocks the Intel Core i7-8700K is 12% faster than our Intel's Core i7-5820K. In other words those new tests confirm previous rumors as well as previous testing, showing that the Intel Core i7-8700K is definitely quite a bit quicker than the Haswell-E six-core chips. Furthermore the Core i7-8700K’s score is very close to what a Core i7-6850K can do.

However the screenshot unveils other scores as well. A closer look at the results gathered with the multi-thread benchmark routine from Cinebench R15 shows that the system with AMD Ryzen 5 1600X scores 1'130 points, the Intel Core i7-8700K scores 1'230 points and the Intel Core i7-5820K scores 1'306 Points. Our Core i7-5820K at stock clocks reaches 1’069 Point in Cinebench R15, therefore we assume that the CPU has been overclocked to approximately 4.5 GHz, which would make it possible to compare the IPC performance of the two chips. Unfortunately there is no information on what clocks the Core i7-5820K has been running at and therefore all of this is guess work.
