AMD to have three RX Vega GPUs available

By June 5th

Rumors, rumors and even more rumors; AMD could be working on three models on which there are basically no reliable information available so far. For starters AMD might introduce a standard Vega card, then a high-end air cooled model and also a watercooled one. In other words we might see something similar to the old AMD Fury series.

The initial report comes from the site Digiworthy and according to them, AMD will release three RX Vega GPUs by June 5th. The cards should compete against NVIDIA’s GTX 1070, GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti respectively. The “RX Vega Core” is supposed to compete with the GTX 1070 at a price of $399 US. The “RX Vega Eclipse” should take on the GeForce GTX 1080 at a price point of $499 US and the “RX Vega Nova” will might cost $599 US and goes against the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

Apparently we’re hoping that such a scenario is really going to happen. Reflecting on all the rumors we’ve seen during the past weeks and months it could be possible that AMD isn’t able to compete with NVIDIA’s current lineup, yet at the same time the opposite could be the case as well. For now we can only say that time will tell what’s what in the end.

Judging by the number of teasers and news it appears that the launch of the upcoming AMD RX Vega GPU is imminent and we are pretty sure that during the next weeks more details will surface.
