It looks like we’re still not done with news coming from CES that ended last week. Next to the Enthoo Prime two case prototype have been on display, which go by the name Project 217 and Project 217S. Both are living to build systems for a living room and feature a small footprint. Although Project 217 might look quite big, both cases are built for mini-ITX motherboards.
Looking at a few pictures over at Techpowerup we see that both cases might be made from steel. Nevertheless it will depend on where on the market Phanteks is going to position these cases. If those are supposed to be marketed in the high-end bracket at any time, there will be combination of steel and aluminium used.
Project 217 and its little brother Project 217S are both compatible with mini-ITX motherboards and SFF components (maybe SFX power supply). The graphics card is placed behind the motherboard tray and connected with a PCIe riser card. The bottom part of the chassis features fans and space for a radiator.
Both models look quite interesting and we hope to see more details as soon as possible.
