A few months ago, Thermaltake announced the launch of Core X71 case. Now the company is ready to present a little update on this model, which goes by the name Core X71 Tempered Glass Edition. The Core X71 is a rather tall full-tower chassis that’s been made from SECC steel, ABS plastic and tempered glass.
Core X71 Tempered Glass Edition measures 677 x 250 x 511mm with a net weight of 12Kg and classifies as a full-tower. The top and the front faceplate share a huge steel mesh, while both side panels are now made from tempered glass and the main chassis is made from solid steel. The tempered glass panel covers the entire accessible area while the bottom area is covered with a mesh panel, that has been equipped with dust-filters.
On the inside there is space for large HPTX/XL-ATX/E-ATX motherboards. Cooling wise a big radiator can be put into the front (480mm) and there is space for another large radiator in the top (360mm) and on the side (360mm). In addition there is enough space for high-end tower coolers, which can measure up to 180mm in height.
The internal layout is overall quite simple and straightforward, you can install up to three HDDs or two SSDs. In addition there are also two 5.25" slots to install additional HDDs.
So far Thermaltake has not yet revealed any details on pricing and availability regarding their Core X71 Tempered Glass Edition but we are sure more details will become available during the upcoming CES 2017.
