It appears that AMD's upcoming Zen-based FX-series Summit Ridge lineup will have overclocking-friendly special versions aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers.
According to the latest rumor, there will be at least one such version made for overclockers and enthusiasts and it will be an 8-core FX-series CPU. Such versions of the new Zen-based FX-series will have higher overclocking potential but also have higher frequencies.
The same report also suggest that these versions will still retain the same 95W TDP due to the fact that these will be cherry-picked chips.
Of course, AMD will offer such chips at a higher price tag and these will probably need a high-end AM4 motherboard based on X370 chipset in order to pull the most out of these chips.
Both the high-end X370-based motherboards as well as AMD's Zen-based FX-series Summit Ridge CPUs are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2017.
