AMD preparing Radeon RX 470 price-cut

Following Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti launch

According to a newest report, AMD might be preparing a price-cut for its Radeon RX 470 graphics card in order to counter Nvidia's upcoming Geforce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, bringing it down to US $169.

While earlier rumors suggest that Nvidia plans to launch the GTX 1050 Ti at US $149, it does not come as a surprise that AMD might be planing a price-cut for some of its Polaris-based graphics cards, especially the Radeon RX 470.

According to a report from Tweaktown.com, Nvidia might be in a lot of trouble to match the performance of the Radeon RX 470 with the GTX 1050 Ti and with recent updates from Oculus, the RX 470 won't only be faster, but also offer better value at 1080p 60FPS gaming, have support for FreeSync and work better with Oculus VR.

While not being mentioned, AMD could also drop a price on the RX 460 as well, in order to keep the Nvidia GTX 1050 at bay in the casual, MOBA-gaming market.

It appears that the battle in the mainstream and entry-level US $150 market will be heating up as soon as Nvidia launches its new GP107-based graphics cards.
