According to the latest report, AMD is planning to launch its first 7nm APU, codename Gray Hawk, in 2019.

According to a fresh report, AMD could launch its next-generation APU, codename Gray Hawk, in 2019. Same as the Raven Ridge APU, which is expected to be the first APU with Zen CPU core architecture, the Gray Hawk will also feature a 4-core/8-thread design.

The Gray Hawk APU will be made on 7nm manufacturing process and use an updated Zen+ CPU architecture with Navi GPU architecture. The Gray Hawk APU could also use an updated AM4+ socket and scale from arcade gaming systems with TDP as low as 10W, all the way to desktop systems.

The Raven Ridge APU, which will use AM4 socket and should come sometime next year, should feature Zen CPU architecture and Polaris GPU architecture and offer a decent amount of performance which should be enough for casual gaming, bringing GPU performance level of the Xbox One.

AMD still significantly focuses on APUs so it does not come as a surprise that a big part of its future will be the new 7nm Gray Hawk APU.
