ASUS has unveiled its latest motherboard based on Intel's X99 Express chipset, the workstation-class X99-E 10G WS motherboard.
The new ASUS X99-E 10G WS workstation-class motherboard supports both Core i7 Haswell-E and Broadwell-E CPUs as well as Intel's Xeon E5-1600 and E5-2600 (v3 and v4) LGA2011v3 CPUs.
The new ASUS X99-E 10G WS comes with eight DDR4 memory slots with support for up to 128GB of quad-channel DDR4-3333 non-ECC as well as DDR4-2400 ECC un-buffered and register memory, has seven PCIe 3.0 x16 slots working in x16/x16/x16/x16 or x16/x8/x8/x8/x8/x8/x8 modes, comes with 10 SATA 6Gbps ports, one U.2 and one M.2 port, plenty of USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0 ports as well as a bunch of other high-end features.
The motherboard uses CEB form-factor (30.5x26.7cm), draws power from a combination of a 24-pin ATX and two 8-pin EPS connectors to power its 8-phase CPU VRM and comes with dual 10G Base-T Ethernet based on X550-AT2 chip. It also features ASUS SafeSlot, ASUS Crystal Sound 3 audio with ALC1150 7.1-channel codec and ASUS UEFI BIOS.
Unfortunately, ASUS did not reveal any details regarding the price of the new X99-E 10G WS motherboard but we are sure we will see it in retail/e-tail soon so we will have more information.
