According to earlier rumors, Nvidia will launch its mid-range GTX 1060 graphics card on July 7th and it appears that select review sites already have GTX 1060 samples in their hands.
According to newest rumors, select review sites are already getting GTX 1060 samples and as rumored earlier, it will be available in 3GB and 6GB versions. In case you missed it, the Geforce GTX 1060 is based on Nvidia's GP106 Pascal GPU and should pack 1280 CUDA cores, work at 1.7GHz Boost GPU clock and need a single 6-pin PCIe power connector with TDP of 120W.
The GTX 1060 will be available in 3GB and 6GB versions, both clocked at 8.0GHz and paired up with a 192-bit memory interface.
The latest report from some sites also suggest that the 3GB version won't support SLI, which is a rather interesting move as some people rather go for two mid-range cards in SLI rather than a more powerful single graphics card and it also opens room for addition upgrade path.
While it should officially launch on July 7th, the first GTX 1060 graphics cards are expected in retail a week after. Unfortunately, there are still no precise information regarding the price but various rumors suggest US $249 as the starting price.
