AMD Radeon RX 480 can hit 1.5GHz on air

AMD preparing new OC software

According to the latest rumor, the upcoming Radeon RX 480 graphics card is actually a great overclocker, capable of hitting 1.5GHz on air.

According to a rumor report from Wccftech.com, AMD is actually working on a new overclocking software that will be launched alongside its first Polaris architecture based Radeon RX 480. The software will probably allow users to provide additional voltage to the GPU.

The GPU actually really likes overclocking and it can reach over 1.5GHz+ on air.

AMD AIB partners will allegedly launch its own custom versions which should be easy hitting 1.4GHz, with additional room left for overclocking via voltage and other fine adjustments.

Such high overclock will push RX 480 close to the high-end performance as it appears that the 14nm Polaris GPU is capable of much more than we originally thought.
