It appears that Nvidia's GP104 Pascal-based GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 might be launched, or at least announced, earlier than rumored before as according to the latest rumors, Nvidia will be hosting an event in Austin, Texas on May 6th.
According to sources that have an invite, Nvidia will be hosting a special event at Austin, Texas which only means that it plans to show its new Pascal-based GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards. These will be the first two SKUs that will be based on the GP104 GPU, with the third one coming at a later date.
To make things even more interesting, the even lines up with EA/DICE Battlefield 5 unveiling so Nvidia might use the event to promote both the game and its new graphics cards.
The same report suggest that this will b e at least a paper-launch with availability scheduled for the next month but we will at least hear and see more about these new graphics cards from Nvidia.
