We have already seen EVGA's SC 17 gaming notebook in action back at CES 2016 show and now the company has announced that it is available for pre-order.
Featuring a 17-inch 4K IPS panel, the EVGA SC 17 gaming notebook is a gaming and overclocking beast packed in a notebook chassis. Measuring at 408x295.5x26.6mm the EVGA SC 17 notebook is thinner than an average desktop-replacement notebook and comes with a sleek looking unibody design.
The heart of the EVGA's SC 17 gaming notebook is the Intel Core i7-6820HK quad-core CPU working at 2.7GHz base and 3.6GHz frequency. Since this CPU supports overclocking, EVGA has also included a GUI BIOS with full overclocking control, in case you want to pull the last drop of performance from this system. On the graphics side, EVGA has included the Nvidia GTX 980M graphics card with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM, which should be enough to get a decent amount of details from any game at native 4K/UHD resolution.
The rest of the specifications are also impressive as EVGA equipped the SC 17 with 32GB of G.Skill DDR4-2666 memory in two SO-DIMM slots and 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD and 1TB of 7200RPM SATA 6Gbps HDD.
The connectivity side including Intel 219-V Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2, two USB 3.0 Type-A and single USB 3.1 Type-C port and HDMI 1.4 and two mini DisplayPort outputs.
As this is a gaming notebook, EVGA also equipped it with a full-sized white backlit keyboard as well as a Synaptics Clickpad 1.5 touchpad, although most gamers will go for their favorite gaming mouse.
Currently, EVGA only offers a single SKU for the SC 17 and it is priced at US $2269.99 but some reports suggest that we might also see a version with a different screen and support for Nvidia G-Sync but there is no specific release date.
