AMD market share to drop even further

Another bad quarter for the company

According to the newest report, AMD's market share in Q1 2016 might be even lower than before, including both CPUs/APUs and GPUs.

According to a report from Digitimes.com, citing industry sources, it appears that AMD will suffer another loss this quarter and loose even more GPU market share to Nvidia due to the lack of popularity. The same report also suggest that the gap behind Intel has widened as AMD lost a lot of market share in the processor market as well.

AMD has not been doing good lately and puts a lot of hope in its future technologies, like the Polaris GPU architecture and even more for its Zen-based CPUs and APUs.

During the last quarter, AMD reported a steady grow in market share since its Fury series has finally become widely available. While we suspect that AMD might suffer a loss in the market share, it should not be that bad in the GPU department as with recent price cuts, game bundles, it should be coming back.

Of course, we should wait for the official market share numbers and hopefully it won't be all bad news for AMD as, after all, lack of competition is never good for consumers.
