Toshiba has announced its newest line of client SSDs which will be based on 15nm TLC NAND, the Toshiba SG5 series.
To be available capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB and both 2.5-inch 7mm SATA-interface and M.2 form-factors, the new Toshiba SG5 series SSDs will offer sequential performance of up to 545MB/s for read and up to 388MB/s for write.
The 2.5-inch version will be available in all the previously mentioned capacities and the same SSDs will be also available in M.2 2280-S2 (single side) form-factor, available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities and M.2 2280-D2 (double side) version available in 1TB capacity.
Aimed at client market, the new Toshiba SG5 series SSDs will also feature Toshiba's own QSBC (Quadruple Swing-By Code) error correction technology.
Toshiba's Q300 series SSDs are already available but end up a bit more expensive due to the use of 19nm TLC NAND with SLC cache technology and higher sequential performance.
Unfortunately, Toshiba did not unveil any details regarding the actual price of the new SG5 series SSDs but did say that it should be available sometime during this quarter.
