Matrox has announced its newest addition to the C-Series line of multi-monitor graphics card, the Matrox C900, which features no less than nine display outputs.
Based on yet to be detailed AMD GPU with 4GB of memory, 75W TDP and using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface, the Matrox C900 is a single-slot graphics card that can power up to nine displays via mini HDMI outputs. It can actually power nine 1920x1200 at 60Hz displays in either a 9x1 or 3x3 configuration. According to Matrox, the 3x3 configuration gives a total resolution of 5760x3240.
The new Matrox C900 can actually be paired up with another C900 graphics card or Matrox C680 six-output graphics card for 18- or 15-display configurations as well.
The rest of the features include HDMI digital audio support, DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.4 support and it is compatible with Matrox Mura IPX Series 4K capture and IP encoder & decoder cards.
Designed mostly for signage usage in retail, corporate, entertainment and any other environments, the Matrox C900 is also perfect for control room video wall in security, process control and transportation scenarios.
According to Matrox, the C900 will be demonstrated at ISE 2016 show in Amsterdam on February 9th. The Matrox C900 should be available in the Q2 2016 but the price has yet to be announced.
