Intel planing to release Broadwell-E in Q2

As early as April

While we already heard plenty of rumors regarding Intel's upcoming Broadwell-E CPUs, the recent leak shows a bit more details as well as pretty much confirms the launch date.

According to the patch notes from a recent Gigabyte X99 BIOS update for the X99 SOC Force motherboard, the Intel Broadwell-E family should launch in Q2, which could be as early as April or as late as June. The update lists support for an Intel 2016 CPU coming in Q2, which can only suggest Intel Broadwell-E lineup.

Earlier rumors suggest that Intel will launch several Broadwell-E CPUs, including a flagship ten-core Extreme Edition. Earlier rumors also suggested that the newest flagship might cost a bit more than the US $999, with a price ranging from US $1500 for the flagship ten-core CPU, US $1000 for an eight-core version and two six-core versions priced at US $550 and US $400.

This also means that Skylake-E CPUs would not come this year but rather pushed back to the next year. Of course, bear in mind that these are still just rumors so you should take it with a grain of salt.
