EVGA unveils new Z170 Classified K motherboard

Overclocking-ready Z170 motherboard

EVGA has announced yet another motherboard that will be a part of its Z170 Express chipset based lineup, the Z170 Classified K motherboard.

Pretty similar to the earlier launched EVGA Z170 Classified 4-Way EATX motherboard, the new Z170 Classified K motherboard lacks some features, like the 4-way SLI support and Creative Core3D audio, but also packs quite a few new features as well as the same 8-phase VRM and should provide decent overclocking potential.

Based on a standard ATX form-factor, the EVGA Z170 Classified K has four memory slots with support for a total of 64GB of DDR4-3600+ memory, four PCI-Express x16 3.0 slots with support for 2-way SLI and PhysX, single PCI-Express x4 and one PCI-Express x1 slot.

It also feaures two M.2 Key M 32Gbps slots and one M.2 Key E slot, a total of 10 SATA 6Gbps ports with two eSATA ports, two USB 3.1 ports, eight USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports coming from Killer E2400 NIC and Intel's i219 and Realtek ALC1150 7.1-channel integrated audio.

As you could have guessed so far, the "K" in the name stands for Killer, which is one of the Gigabit Ethernet controllers on the motherboard.

The new EVGA Z170 Classified K motherboard still comes with a 6-layer PCB, dual BIOS support with replaceable BIOS chip, on-board power, reset and clear CMOS buttons, on-board POST Code and CPU Temp monitor, higher gold content socket and the aforementioned 8-phase VRM, all of which makes it a decent overclocking motherboard.

The EVGA Z170 Classified is already available directly from EVGA's web shop with a price set at US $289.99, which is significantly cheaper compared to the Z170 Classified 4-way motherboard priced at US $399.99.
