Following the launch of pre-orders for the Oculus Rift VR headset, EVGA brought a rather interesting product to CES 2016 show in Las Vegas, the first Geforce GTX 980 Ti VR Edition, which has a 5.25/3.5-inch front panel with HDMI 2.0 port.
While it might look like a standard GTX 980 Ti with EVGA's own ACX 2.0+ cooler, the new EVGA GTX 980 Ti VR Edition has a neat new feature, as it comes with a 5.25/3.5-inch front panel with an extra HDMI 2.0 port which will allow users to plug in the VR headset directly on the front of the PC case, rather than the back.
The new EVGA GTX 980 Ti VR Edition front-panel also comes with a couple of USB 3.0/3.1 ports which plug into standard USB 3.0 header on the motherboard. The supplied HDMI 2.0 port plugs into a dedicated port on the front part of the graphics card. The EVGA GTX 980 Ti VR Edition also has an additiona mini-HDMI 2.0 port on the back of the graphics card.
Unfortunately, EVGA did not unveil any details regarding the price or the availability date but did note that the GTX 980 Ti VR Edition will have reference clock settings and will also be available with a blower-style cooler as well.
