HTC Vive VR headset to launch in April 2016

Gets slightly delayed

While we already heard a lot about HTC's Vive VR headset, we did not know the precise launch date, other than the Q1 2016. It appears that the headset got slightly delayed as HTC has announced that the commercial version will launch in April 2016.

Before HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) headset reaches retail/e-tail shelves, HTC will be hosting a developer conference in Beijing on December 18th, where the company will launch a second generation developer kit.

According to details, HTC plans to release 7,000 new developer units early next year and also show the Vive VR headset at various events happening next year.

Although we do not believe that VR industry will be as popular as some analysts predict, we agree that it is a nice piece of technology, although it will be reserved for those with deeper pockets, due to the price of the headset as well as due to hardware requirements.
