Basemark working on Vulkan API benchmark

The Basemark GPU Vulkan

Basemark, a company well known for its wide offer of graphics and system benchmarks and testing utilities, is working on a new benchmark called the Basemark GPU Vulkan, which will test and compare the device performance running on the new Vulkan API from Krhonos Group.

Developed in close cooperation with AMD, Imagination Technologies, Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm and Renesas companies, will ensure that the benchmark is both reliable and objective, according to Basemark. Development of the Basemark GPU Vulkan has started back in August 2015 and preliminary specification have already been delivered to developement members.

Basemark has used the opportunity to call all industry experts and leading companies to join the development program in order to make the benchmark even better.

The new GPU Vulkan benchmark should be available in Q2 2016 and it will be available for both mobile and PC platforms.
