According to a fresh report, the overdue AMD Radeon R9 380X will be launching on November 15th. Based on fully-enabled Tonga GPU the R9 380X is expected to pack 2048 Stream Processors and 4GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit memory interface.

While earlier details suggested that the Tonga XT GPU, now rebranded to Antigua XT GPU, will pack a 384-bit memory interface, later reports pointed out that it will ship with 4GB of GDDR5 memory and a 256-bit memory interface.

In case you missed it earlier, Tonga XT GPU has not been available on the desktop PC market and has earlier showed up in Apple iMac systems, as the R9 M295X, under the Amethyst GPU codename. The Antigua XT GPU comes with 32 Compute Units, 2048 Stream Processors, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs.

While specifications are still not confirmed, a report from the Korean Hardware Battle site suggest that it should have a GPU clock of anywhere between 1000 and 1100MHz while memory should be clocked at between 5500 and 6000MHz.

The price of the Radeon R9 380X is expected to be somewhere around US $250 which should fill the gap that AMD has in that price range. AMD is expected to launch it on November 15th while AMD partners should be ready with their own graphics cards on November 19th.
