Razer has opened up pre-orders for its Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) headset, offering the so called Hacker Development Kit for US $300.
Razer has launched pre-orders for its OSVR Hacker Development kit headset for US $300 and will start shipping out on November 23rd. Featuring a 5.5-inch OLED screen with 120Hz screen with 401 ppi at 60Hz, IR camera and 360 degree tracking, the OSVR headset is quite an impressive piece of hardware.
Razer was quite keen to note and issue a warning that "the OSVR Hacker Development kit is for development purposes and will ship with a 30 day warranty." Since consumers can buy it as well, this will, according to Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan, bring game developers, gamers and hardware manufacturers together to solve challenges in the virtual reality gaming and make it a reality for the masses.
Hopefully, we will hear more about Razer's OSVR headset soon.
