While it might not bend that easily, Apple's new iPhone 6S is now a part of the "the iPhone 6S Chipgate". As we already know, Apple's A9 SoC is made by two different manufacturers, TSMC and Samsung, and it appears that TSMC-made chip is better as some iPhone 6S users are reporting a better battery life.
According to the a couple of tests that were done online, iPhone 6S with Samsung's 14nm A9 SoC can end up with up to 20 percent worse battery life compared ot the TSMC-made 16nm Apple A9 SoC.
Well known tech Youtubers, John Morrison and Austin Evans have both tested two different versions of the iPhone 6S, in a number of real-world tests including classic benchmarks, video recording and high-workload apps, showing that TSMC-chip is indeed superior as the Samsung-made A9 SoC tends to overheat and offers lower battery life.
A Reddit post, spotted by Kitguru.net, also shows that difference between Samsung A9 SoC and TSMC A9 SoC is quite big in Geekbench battery test.
Currently called "the iPhone 6S Chipgate", the issue might be quite big for Apple as there is no way to tell which A9 SoC version did you get unless you run the app.
Apple has yet to release a comment on the issue but so far it does not look good.
