Lam pushes it high on LN2
As if breaking the DDR4 memory record was not enough, Lam has also also broke the CPU record by pushing the Core i7-6700K to 6998.88MHz.
The Core i7-6700K was overclocked on the same platform used for memory overclocking which includes ASRock's Z170 OC Formula LGA1151 motherboard and G.Skill's Ripjaws 4 DDR4 memory. The CPU was well cooled with plenty of LN2.
This overclocking record pushed Chi-Kui Lam to the first place, just ahead of Toppc with 6801.63MHz.
We will probably see a bit more records as overclockers are definitely getting better and better overclocking results with Intel's Skylake platform.
