Intel bringing Xeon CPUs to notebooks

Coming this autumn

Intel has announced that the company will be bringing its Xeon enterprise-class to CPUs to notebooks for the first time by lunching the new Intel Xeon E3-1500M v5 product family, specifically aimed at notebooks and portables.

Based on Skylake CPU architecture, the new Xeon E3-1500M v5 lineup is "designed for the professional who needs workstation-class capabilities in a portable device" and "deliver high precision computing horsepower in notebook form factors with the right balance of power and mobility."

According to Intel's announcement, Intel Xeon-based mobile workstations will have key features like error-correcting code (ECC) memory, Intel vPro Technology and also features Thunderbolt 3 interface.

While it did announce the Xeon E3-1500M family, Intel has kept all the interesting details for the later date or as we draw closer to the autumn launch time-frame.

We will most likely hear more details regarding the Xeon E3-1500M during Intel Developer Forum 2015 which kicks off in San Francisco on August 18th.
