Mushkin launches new ATLAS VITAL SSDs

New M.2 2280 for notebooks and SFF PCs

Mushkin Enhanced MFG, a company well known for its high-performance memory and solid state drives, have announced its newest addition to ATLAS SSD lineup, the M.2 2280 form-factor ATLAS VITAL, aimed at notebooks, Ultrabooks and small form-factor PCs.

Using Seagate's SandForce SF-2000 series controller with SATA 3.0 interface, the new ATLAS VITAL M.2 2280 form-factor SSD promises sequential performance of up to 550MB/s for read and up to 535MB/s for write with 4K random performance of up to 86,000 IOPS.

"With our latest ATLAS VITAL M.2 series, budget-conscious users can now experience Mushkin-enhanced SSDs in their Ultrabooks, notebooks and small form-factor PCs such as the recently-released M.2-compatible Intel NUC," said Brian Flood, Director of Product Development.

To be available in 120, 240, 250, 480 and 500GB capacities, the new Mushkin ATLAS VITAL SSD M.2 form-factor lineup should be available immediately. According to price listings, the new Mushkin ATLAS VITAL M.2 SSD will range from around €60 for the 120GB model, up to €175 for the 500GB model.
