First showcased back in June at Computex 2015 show, ASUS ahs now officially launched its new X99M-WS motherboard, a micro-ATX LGA2011v3 motherboard based on Intel's X99 Express chipset.
Having support for Intel LGA2011v3 Core i7 Haswell-E and certain Intel Xeon E5 v3 series CPUs, the new ASUS X99M-WS is a workstation-class motherboard squeezed on micro-ATX form-factor.
It features an 8-phase CPU and 2+2-phase memory VRM, drawing power from 24-pin ATX, two 8-pin EPS and a 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors, has four DIMM memory slots with support for up to 64GB of DDR4 memory in quad-channel mode, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x16/x16/x8 or x8/x8/x8) and single PCI-Express x1 slot.
The rest of the features and specifications include eight SATA 6Gbps ports, one M.2 32Gbps slot, two Gigabit Ethernet ports from Intel I210 controllers, integrated 802.11ac/Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.1 ports, six USB 3.0 and plenty of USB 2.0 ports as well as a 7.1-channel ASUS CrystalSound 2 audio.
Unfortunately, ASUS did not reveal any details regarding precise availability date or the price, but we will surely keep an eye on it.
