Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI is estimating Apple's sales numbers for the third quarter this year. He's expecting that especially the new iPhone is performing excellently, whereas the iWatch as well as the iPad are lacking behind.
Ming-Chi Kuo estimates, that in the past three months, Apple shipped no less than 54.2 million iPhones. Apart from that 8.8 million iPads, 5.4 million Macs and 3.9 million iWatches have been sold during the same period. Compared to last year's shipments, this would equal to 54 percent more iPhones and 21.6 percent more Macs. On the other hand the iPad sales would have declined by 33.5 percent.
According to Kuo, there is a strong demand for the iPhone in China, which leads to strongly increased numbers regarding the shipments. Nevertheless it could be possible that manufacturing issues could have a negative impact on the units shipped, reducing them by 26 percent.
At the other end of the scale there is the Apple Watch, which appears to be behind expectations. Still it's expected that 5.5 million units are going to be shipped during the past three months and in forecasts for entire 2015, Kuo is talking about 15 million units.
With the release of new MacBooks Kuo expects growth regarding Mac sales. Apart from that there could be new iMacs with upgraded CPUs incoming and these would also help to furhter drive sales.
Apple is going to communicate it's third quarter earnings tomorrow on July 21, to which an investors conference will follow. It will certainly be interesting to see whether Apple will be able to report another record quarter.
