With the 550M Cougar has a new flagship gaming mouse in its portfolio. This particular model is available in different colors and apart from that it comes with an attractive price.

Cougar is using a SDNS-3988 optical gaming sensor, which features 6400 DPI resolution. Going further in the specs there is 1000 Hz polling rate. Apart from that is possible to control DPI, polling rate and button assignment. In order to do so there is the Cougar UIX user interface.

A quick look at the design shows that the mouse appears to have an ambidextrous body, but the buttons have not been placed equally on both sides. There are also 2 RGB backlight areas, which can be controlled by the Cougar software as well.

Next to the 550M, Cougar is also introducing the 500M. The latter is basically the smaller brother featuring a 4000 DPI sensor and some other features.

When it comes to pricing and availability the 550M and the 500M will make it to market in August 2015 with MSRPs set to 59 USD and 39 USD respectively.
