After Microsoft's surprising announcement to include backward compatibility for Xbox 360 games on Xbox One, most eyes were turned to Sony, which, unfortunately, have no plans to offer the same feature on Playstation 4.
In a statement
for Polygon.com, Shuhei Yoshida, head of worldwide studios at Sony Computers Entertainment, said that the backward compatibility news was quite interesting and the technology involved must be very challenging. He also added that he is interested to see the list of titles that will be supported.
While he was clearly as surprised with Microsoft's announcement as we were, Yoshida also added that Sony currently does not have any plans to offer backward compatibility as the company is focused on creating new services and new features fo Playstation 4.
If you have been hoping for a similar feature on Playstation 4, do not get your hopes up.
