Razer officially acquires OUYA

No details from Razer or OUYA

It appears that earlier rumors suggesting that Razer might acquire OUYA are true as the MESA Global has confirmed that deal was signed.

Unfortunately, MESA Global, which is an investment bank and financial adviser to OUYA, did not reveal any details regarding the terms of the deal, other than the fact that the deal was signed this month, so it is still not clear how much did Razer have to pay for OUYA. OUYA has been struggling for quite some time and despite its success on Kickstarter, the OUYA Android console did not make a significant impact on the market.

It is still not clear what will Razer do with OUYA as it already has its own Forge TV console based on Android TV which should offer an ability to stream games directly from your PC. There is even possibility that Razer will leave OUYA brand to function on its own but that is left to be seen.

We will hopefully see some interesting new product from Razer now that OUYA is a part of it.
